Derwent Practice Rooms
We are aware of issues with the pianos in the practice rooms, and they are in the process of being serviced.
Acquiring Card Access to DPR
Firstly, you must be a member of the Music Society to use the Derwent Practice Rooms. Become a member now.
To access the rooms, you must get your student card validated at Vanbrugh College reception (the Information Centre). You will then need to activate the card within a week of having the card processed to enable usage at the practice rooms. To activate the card, simply tap it on one of the KABA readers in Vanbrugh reception. This must be done each week to keep your card activated.
Any queries see the information below, or email us if your question has not been answered.
FAQ’S
What do I do if my student card isn’t working?
If you have got your card processed from Vanbrugh Reception you need to use the card within a few days in order to activate it for usage. If this does not work please return to the reception and they can re-process the card. If the card continues to not work please email us. Please also check that you have bought membership and it has gone through as we cannot give access to anyone without membership - you will have to show proof of membership to get your card validated
How can I access the rooms if I am not a student?
Non-students can become associate members of YorkSU in order to buy society membership. Once you have bought your membership, you can get a staff card validated in the same way as a student card (see above) or sign out a temporary access card.
