Samba Band Society

Samba is a unique form of group drumming that originates from the carnivals of Brazil. It can be not only a great stress reliever, but also a fantastic way to make new friends and learn a new skill. We're always happy to have new members so make sure to come along even if you didn't catch us at the beginning of the year. Audition information:

There are no auditions for our society. We welcome any ability at Samba York and no previous experience of playing musical instruments is required, just the enthusiasm to make some noise! Most of our members (including our current president) had never done any drumming before coming to uni.

Rehearsal information:

We practice on Sundays from 3pm-5pm in room E/058 of the music department.
