The Music Education Group
MEG is a student run volunteering project, passionate about using the power of music to heal and educate everyone in the community! We carry this out through workshops, performance sessions and concerts in establishments from nurseries and schools to hospitals and care homes to name but a few.
Audition information:
All you need to get involved in this organisation is a passion for music and a want to share this with other people. You can sign up through sending us an email or joining our volunteer Facebook group. This can be on a formal basis as part of the committee leading workshops or more informally as a volunteer who comes and helps out. Committee elections are held in the Autumn and Summer terms for those wanting a more formal involvement.
Rehearsal information:
The committee meets once a week in term time and workshops run throughout. As a committee member there is an expectation that you will attend these meetings and run 3 – 4 workshops/term although there are lots of opportunities to shadow other people before taking workshops on. As a volunteer you can have as much or as little involvement as you like.
